Boarding Packages customized to your horse
At Bonoby, we offer outdoor boarding packages, as well as a few indoor spots for rehabs and special cases. Add-ons are available to all boarders to customize a package based on your horse's needs. We are primarily retirement and rehab boarding, but do have the facilities that make us a great option for pleasure riders too!
Outdoor Board
​
Our outdoor boarding includes fresh clean water (heated in the winter), 24/7 hay all year round, one grain feeding per day and access to shelter. We have three types of outdoor board available; easy keeper, senior and easy breathers (for horses with heaves). We believe it's important for horses boarded outdoors to have the same attention as horses boarded indoors and therefore include a daily wellness check and night check, with hay and water topped up as needed. We also keep 4 stalls dedicated for use by outdoor boarders, whether they're needed for vet appointments, inclement weather or in case of injury or illness.

Hybrid Board​
​
While we believe horses should live as naturally as possible outdoors, there are some situations where owners or horses are more comfortable having occasional access to a stall. Hybrid board includes use of one 12x12 stall, cleaned and bedded per use, constant access to hay and fresh, clean water. When horses are outside, they have all the same features as outdoor horses. When inside at night, they enjoy group turnout from dawn until dusk. Reverse turnout is also an option for horses that struggle with the heat of summer days. We include a daily wellness check and night check, with hay and water topped us as needed.

Indoor Board​
​
We offer a limited number of indoor spots for rehabs or special needs, with the intention of these horses returning to outdoor or hybrid board upon recovery.
This board includes exclusive use of one 12x12 stall, cleaned and bedded daily, constant access to hay and fresh, clean water. Two daily grain feedings, daily wellness check and night check are included.
Indoor board can be customized with add-on options to suit your horse's individual requirements.

Customize your board with add-ons
​
Whether boarded indoors or outdoors, you always have the option of add-ons, either long term or for a month (or even a day) at a time when you find yourself too busy to manage the extras that your horse needs. Please contact us for more information and costs.
Additional Grain feeding​
Available to horses boarded outdoors, add evening grain to their diet. Includes removing horse from paddock to ensure grain isn't eaten by the herd.

Holding for vet or farrier
The stable will bring your horse inside and turn back out after your appointment.

Note for this add-on, the stable must book appointments with the barn farrier or vet, or confirm availability a minimum of 48 hours in advance.
Stall Rest
Stall rest can be hard for horses, so our stall rest can include the use and daily cleaning of two stalls so horses maintain a daily routine and change of scenery. We ensure one stall includes a window to give horses more to see.
Vacation Care
Taking a trip but want to know your horse gets some extra love and attention? Vacation care includes updates & pictures sent to you per the frequency you request and blanket/fly mask changes. Additional services can be arranged as needed.
Additional Feed Types
We feed Brooks All Phase, Fit & Fibre Pellets, Senior, Fibre O and Beet Pulp. Some horses benefit from additional fats, protein, or fibre so we're happy to customize your horse's grain based on individual needs.
Individual Turnout
While we encourage group turnout for the socialization benefits, there are times when horses need individual turnout to tend to injuries or illness. We have 6 individual pens of varying size to tend to such situations.
Medication Administration
Some horses will pull off grain if medication is added. This add-on includes administration of medication, separate from grain feeding, whether required on a short or long term basis.

Blanket or Fly Mask/Sheet Changes
Keep your horse comfortable without worrying about rushing to the barn anytime the weather changes.
Injury/Wound Care
Injuries happen and when they do, diligent care to get your horse back to health is important. Injury/wound care can include cold hosing, leg wrapping, wound cleaning and bandaging, etc.
Easy Breathers Care
Finding a boarding arrangement for a horse with heaves can be difficult. At Bonoby, we offer outdoor board with the 'heavey' horse in mind. Only small square flakes are fed with this boarding option. Hay can be soaked or steamed as needed and is regularly replenished so horses can't bury their heads in large amounts. All grain meals are fed from feed dishes on the ground, encouraging drainage from the horse's airways.
